TREEMENDUS ARBOR CARE
If a tree on your property in Salt Lake City just doesn’t look right- it’s turning brown, thinning leaves or something else, TreeMendus Arbor Care will take the time to figure out what’s actually causing the problem, not just what it looks like. Owner Caleb O’Brien is an ISA Certified Arborist, and also Tree Risk Assessment Qualified. That means he’ll evaluate your whole property, from bark beetles in your spruce trees to your shade trees struggling with the drought. Call us at (801) 403-4496 to get started.
Tree Care for Salt Lake City Homes, Estates and Properties

What makes Salt Lake City such a great place to live is how we’ve got one of the most established tree canopies in Utah. Big shade trees in The Avenues and historic streets of Sugar House, Yalecrest and the East Bench, and most of these trees have been growing here for generations. The age of the trees is what makes those neighborhoods special, but it also means the trees carry years of stress from construction, compacted and clay soil, old planting mistakes, and even the drought we’re going through.
One thing a lot of homeowners in SLC don’t realize is that the trees in your park strip likely aren’t yours. The city’s Urban Forestry program is responsible for the plants between the sidewalk and the road, including any trees, and code requires a permit before anyone works on those trees. So if it looks like a tree is declining, your first call may have to be Urban Forestry. We’ll help you figure out which trees on your property are yours, and which ones belong to the city.
The other big story here is our water situation. As more homes in Salt Lake City “flip the strip” and try xeroscaping, the trees that previously spent years using lawn sprinklers for water suddenly lose their main water source. But we actually know that most trees in Utah are overwatered. So our goal here at TreeMendus is to keep the tree alive, but not give it so much water that you drown it. We want to get the balance right, and it all depends on the species of the tree, where it’s located, and how much the tree has been watered so far.
Most tree problems aren’t revealed until they’re series. By the time a tree looks like it’s sick, the cause has probably been around for years. That why we always start with a diagnosis.
Your Consultation Is With an ISA Certified Arborist. You’re not going to get a salesperson with a price list. Our consultations are all led with a certified arborist who has passed an exam administered by the International Society of Arboriculture. That means they’ll take time to diagnose what’s going on with your trees, and explain it to you in simple terms.
We Look at the Whole Property. When you work with a general tree service company, they’ll come out and look at the tree you point at. We’ll take a look at everything, because what’s hurting one tree is probably affecting the others- you just can’t see it yet.
We’re in It for the Long Haul. We’re not just going to treat a tree once and walk away. We want lifetime customers, so we’ll do everything we can to earn your trust.

Not yet. As of summer 2026, EAB hasn’t been reported anywhere in Utah (thankfully). It’s already found in Colorado, and it’s spreading fast. Prevention is the only option- so if you’ve got ash trees in Salt Lake City, now’s the time to set up a protection plan.
No we don’t- we instead focus on tree health services like diagnosis, treatment and long term care.
Our costs depend on where your property is, and how complex the situation is. Call us and we’ll give you a more accurate estimate.
