Here’s what the American Society of Consulting Arborists says:
“Consulting Arborists are the authoritative experts on trees and bring an objective, comprehensive viewpoint to their clients—ensuring the safety, health, and preservation of trees.”
That definition matters because most people don’t realize there’s a difference between a tree service and a consulting arborist. A tree service typically comes out, identifies a problem, and sells you a treatment. A consulting arborist comes out to understand your trees—their health, their potential, their risks—and then creates a management plan based on what’s actually best for them, not what’s easiest to sell.

How We Approach Tree Consulting
At TreeMendus Arbor Care, we approach certified arborist services differently than most arborists. We’re not here to trim, remove, or spray your way to solutions. We’re here to understand what your trees need and why they need it.
We think of ourselves as shepherds of your trees. It’s our job to protect your investment and ensure the long-term health of your property. Whether you’re managing a sprawling estate, protecting trees during construction, documenting tree health for insurance, or dealing with a pest threat—we approach every situation the same way: with objectivity, expertise, and genuine care.
Why This Matters to You
A consulting arborist provides something a typical tree service can’t: an unbiased expert opinion. We’re not incentivized to recommend expensive treatments or removals. We’re incentivized to figure out what your trees actually need and help you make decisions based on facts, not sales tactics.
Our team maintains the standards and ethics of Registered Consulting Arborists from the American Society of Consulting Arborists. While we continue working toward that formal designation, our approach and commitment to arboricultural excellence are already there.
When you need someone who genuinely understands trees and will be honest about what’s best for yours, that’s what a consulting arborist does. That’s what we do.
